Dr. Kabete is a Tanzania geologist with more than 40 years experience focusing on the exploration and development of gold project in Africa, in particularly in D.R.Congo, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Ghana under Mazoka where he is the founder and managing director. He received his PhD in Geology from the University of Dar es Salaam and obtained his MSc in Ore Geology from the University of Western Australia.

He has an over 34 years’ experience in gold, nickel and base-metal exploration gained from working at Placer Dome Inc.’s Bulyanhulu Gold Project (1989-1992); BHP Minerals’ nickel projects (Kabanga and Kagera Reconnaissance) Kagera Region, Kapalagulu nickel and PGE projects in Tanzania and base-metal project in Madagascar (1992-1999); Ashanti Goldfields and AngloGold Ashanti’s gold projects in Tanzania (1999-2005), and DRC (Mongbwalu Gold Project) from 2005 to 2009 and Chief Geologist Greenfields Exploration, Sub-Saharan Africa for AngloGold Ashanti, based in Johannesburg between 2009 and 2013.

He led a team to assess the exploration opportunities in African continent and Madagascar, including Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, DRC, Gabon Cameroon, Mauritania, CAR, Southern Sudan, Mozambique, Zambia, for potential farming in and acquisition.
